We are the East Whittier Education Association (eWEa). We represent the teachers, psychologists, counselors, speech pathologists, and nurses in the East Whittier City School District. We work together to improve the conditions of teaching and learning, so students and our members have the opportunities and resources to succeed.

What is the Prop 55 Extension?

  • 2012: Prop 30 temporarily increased income tax on high-income earners to help fund K-12 schools until 2018.
  • 2016: Prop 55 extended the increased income tax until 2030.
  • ​If Prop 55 is not further extended through a 2026 ballot initiative, K-12 schools will suffer severe reductions in funding in five years.
​Talk to your coworkers, friends, and family about the need to extend Prop 55. Share how much our district will lose if we don’t pass a Prop 55 extension.
